(Your) Silence is Golden

We’d like to get as little of your murmur(ing) as possible, not because you aren’t interesting, but because voiceover narrative isn’t what this project is about. This doesn’t mean that you can’t submit walks that have personal resonance – in fact, that’s encouraged – but the aim is to capture something ambient about a place and not something analytic. Of course, if someone asks you for directions during the course of a really interesting walk, and you answer and it takes a few seconds, still send it in. Getting the sounds of other people is fine, and capturing something of yourself during a walk is, as you will no doubt discover, inevitable – but it shouldn’t be a predetermined.
